Head teacher weekly blog:

Welcome back to you all. I do hope everybody enjoyed a wonderful Easter and managed to have a fun-filled holiday.

It has been lovely having the children back in school this week, and there have been some exciting opportunities for them to enjoy. The Year 3/4s had an amazing time at the Ultimate Frisbee Festival, while the Year 2s got stuck into their archery session with IG sports, and the Year 3/4s had a wonderful time at the street dance performance at the Merlin Theatre. Everybody has been very active this week!

The children have been invited to take part in the St Andrews Art Open. This is a lovely opportunity for the children to showcase their creativity and artistic talents in a community art event. Please encourage your children to take part; it will be a wonderful event. They should have received a letter with details today.

We have also started learning a song for the Mells Village Fete. The focus for the school will be the Victorian Period. There will be games for them to play, a song to sing, as the opportunity to throw wet sponges at me in the stocks!

There is mounting excitement regarding the Year 4 residential - I know that the children will have an incredible time. There will be more details to follow for the Year 3s in school on those days.

I hope you all have a lovely weekend.

Lord God, we praise you that you are fully in control of all things. I pray you would protect my child. Keep them healthy and help them to thrive. I thank you that you know every hair on their head. You know exactly when they rise and when they fall. Watch over my child in every area of their life and keep them safe I pray, Amen.
