Mells School is celebrating the vibrant festival of Holi!
Today the children are learning about this special celebration from India, known as the Festival of Colours. We’ve been exploring how people come together to throw coloured powder, enjoy music and dancing, and celebrate the arrival of spring.
What is Holi?
Holi is a joyful Hindu festival that marks the start of spring. It celebrates new beginnings, the triumph of good over evil, and the importance of friendship and kindness. Families and communities join together to share food, splash bright colours, and enjoy time with one another.
