VE Day
During the VE Day festivities at Mells First School, the children enjoyed a fun-filled day of celebration and learning. In the morning, they got busy, making jam sandwiches, and assembling colourful fruit kebabs. They also spent time crafting Union Jack flags and shiny medals to wear during the afternoon activities. The celebrations continued after lunch with traditional games, including egg and spoon races and sack races, bringing lots of laughter and excitement. The children also sang songs, helping them to reflect on the significance of the day while honouring the past in a joyful and memorable way.
